Safety/Loss Prevention Manager - Construction is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing the safety and loss prevention program for a company's construction department. Ensures that each project site conforms to all applicable safety regulations. Being a Safety/Loss Prevention Manager - Construction is responsible for assigning safety inspectors to sites and ensuring that follow-ups are conducted when necessary. We are looking for a Safety Manager who will maintain the safety culture we have built.

    In this role of Safety Manager, you will be responsible for:

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, identify corrective actions, and implement follow-up assessments.
    • Plan and implement preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
    • Plan, implement, and manage comprehensive environmental safety & health programs.
    • Provide project management/superintendent teams with guidance on health and safety and confirms project job sites fulfill industry, local, state, and federal guidelines.
    • Collaborate with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management.
    • Maintain a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
    • Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, and contract documents.
    • Conduct accident prevention training & investigations
    • Investigate accidents and incidents to find the cause and take preventive measures for further incidents.
    • Handle worker's compensation claims in the event of a workplace
    • Suggest solutions, improvements, and prevention steps for safety issues.
    • Conduct safety meetings with employees
    • Develop, evaluate, and upgrade safety programs (keeping the program current)
    • Complete other duties as assigned by management.

    Qualifications:

    • Certified in risk management and health/safety management.
    • Thorough knowledge of health and safety laws and guidelines
    • Extensive attention to detail and distinguishing safety hazards.
    • Ability to provide detailed reports and develop safety procedures.
    • Good understanding of data analysis and risk management
    • Good organizational leadership and motivational skills
    • Excellent communication and people skills
    • Ability to recognize when safety conditions need improvement.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks especially when managing an accident or incident.

    Education & Additional Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related field. IH certification preferred.
    • Professional BSCP certifications – CSP or ASP
    • 3 years in Construction (preferred)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation.
    • Understanding of federal, state, and city safety requirements, including OSHA
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines.
    • Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers.
    • Leadership skills, such as the ability to motivate a team and provide feedback.

    Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office & Outlook. Procore and Power BI (preferred)

    Work Environment: The setting for this position is an office/ field hybrid.
