    Job Purpose

    The Deposit Operations Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Deposit Operations department and ensuring that the policies and procedures of the bank comply with the appropriate laws and regulations. Responsible for leading and supervising the deposit operations team, creating, and updating policies, procedures, and workflows. Work alongside others within the bank to enhance products and service levels. Establish goals, assign accountabilities, and set priorities. Provide employee development and training, as well as evaluate the performance of team members.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    • Oversee the daily operations and functions of the Deposit Operations Department and manage employees within the deposit operation department.
    • Develop and implement plans to support strategic objectives and prepare management reports and statistics.
    • Ensure controls, policies, and procedures are established and comply with all state and federal rules, regulations, and banking laws.
    • Coordinate activities with others to ensure compliance with BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act.
    • Proactively resolve deposit operations issues and act as a resource for branch personnel regarding new account opening.
    • Ensures established service levels are maintained by staff.
    • Prepare accurate and complete reports on deposit operations metrics and provide them regularly to Senior Management.
    • Balance and Review reports for accuracy, reconciliation.
    • Train and or assist in training of new Deposit Operations Associates.
    • Represent the Deposit Operations Department throughout the bank in meetings and projects with other department managers, manage special projects, and intercede, as necessary, with staff and internal/external customers to resolve problems.
    • Encourage department focus on accuracy, delivery of timely service and providing quality support.
    • Work with other managers in responding to internal and external Audit, Compliance, Examination requests and findings.
    • Ensures operational changes are documented in appropriate procedures.
    • Maintains knowledge of current issues and compliance matters. Researches and stays abreast of emerging legal and compliance related developments and issues.
    • Assist with bank acquisitions or conversions.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent plus five-years related experience in retail banking operations and compliance, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Business, Finance or related field, preferred.;
    • Adheres to all bank policies and procedures and to internal controls and system access restrictions.
    • Must have good analytical abilities with advanced skills in Excel and Word
    • Self-Development: pursue additional education or training to remain current, improve knowledge, and diversify skills.
    • Must be familiar with Deposit products, all areas of retail banking including products, services and compliance/regulations.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures and government regulations.
    • Ability to effectively respond to questions from internal and external customers.
    • Strong grasp of accounting principles.
    • Ability to reconcile and determine outages in out-of-balance situations.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in an office setting.
    • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, regulatory format.
    • Ability to quickly determine scope of problem, assess options and resolve issues.

    Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position, primarily at a desk. The work environment is typically located indoors, but may have infrequent occasion to work outdoors. Some travel may be necessary.
    • The employee is frequently required to operate a computer, printer, copy machine, calculator, telephone, and/or other office equipment.
    • The employee frequently exchanges information with others and must be able to do so in an effective manner. Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, and across a variety of audiences.
    • The employee may frequently move items up to 20 pounds and occasionally move items up to 25 pounds.
    • The employee may frequently reach for files, books, and similar items in high or low places and must have the ability to bend, stoop, or reach.
    • They typical schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Overtime or extended hours may be occasionally required.
