Risk Manager manages and administers an organization's risk-management programs. Implements policies, procedures, and controls to monitor and minimize the risk exposure of assets. Being a Risk Manager researches internal and external risk factors including economic, market, and regulatory risks that may affect the organization. Routinely evaluates the effectiveness of procedures and collaborates with internal stakeholders to monitor changes in the business environment. Additionally, Risk Manager manages statistical analysis and designing of financial models to predict the risk exposure of an organization's assets. Reviews risk analysis reports to ensure risks are identified and managed effectively. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Risk Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Risk Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. As our Enterprise Risk Program Manager, you will:
Be responsible for owning and developing SPP's enterprise risk management program. Your primary focus will be on creating a comprehensive risk management strategy that aligns with the company's risk appetite and profile. By implementing effective standards, processes, and procedures based on a customized risk management framework, you will ensure that SPP's risk management efforts are tailored to our specific needs.
Collaboration will be a key aspect of your role as you work with cross-functional teams and provide training to all levels of staff across the organization. Your goal will be to continually identify, document, classify, and report corporate business risks accurately, consistently, and in a timely manner. By developing appropriate response and mitigation plans for identified risks and adapting them as needed, you will contribute to the ongoing success of our risk management efforts. To streamline and enhance our risk management processes, you will select and maintain a robust software platform that provides a systematic approach for data analysis, retention, workflows, and reporting.
