The Director - Contract Management shall be jointly responsible together with the Vice President of Commercial Services, Senior Principal of Commercial Management, the Associate General Counsel, and Operations leadership for client contract negotiations, contract exhibit development and negotiation, project risk mitigation, and post-execution claims and change management support. The Director shall lead in the development, implementation, training, controlling, and continuous improvement of commercial processes, systems, and tools associated with both contract exhibits development and change management within MasTec Renewables. The Director shall act as a key resource and contributor to other group and department team members as a functional leader in strategy, talent development, change management, results driving, and systems development.
All contract management staff (including Contract Administrators, Contract Managers, and Senior Contract Managers) within the Commercial Services Department shall report directly or indirectly to the Director, and the Director shall be responsible for managing, coordinating, and evaluating such staff's work and performance.
Responsibilities

- Coordinate, manage, and supervise the work of assigned Commercial Services team members and support staff for their contributions to estimating support, client negotiations, preconstruction activities during project operations, and through project warranty
- Give clear direction and targets to ensure all assigned Commercial Services team members, and project teams as applicable, will have the ability to achieve their goals and targets so that the overall goals of the Company are met.
- Consistently execute on MasTec Renewables' strategic priorities and initiatives while fostering a results-oriented environment.
- Coordinate with Estimating Department:
- Assist in bid evaluations and preparations for target projects, including those projects for key clients, targeted short-listed projects, and projects where the Company has been awarded the project from a commercial management and risk management perspective; and
- Review the initial estimating risk analysis and project classification to assist the project risk register development and risk analysis for target projects, including a review of contingency funds and management reserves
- Lead client contract negotiations
- Lead detailed contract reviews and deal negotiations together with the assigned Project Executive, Project Manager, and/or Lead Estimator for target projects as well as the Legal Department team members;
- Support the Preconstruction team to ensure that the contract construction schedule has been developed accurately and in sufficient detail for the project, including an analysis against contractual delay penalties, if applicable;
- Ensure that the scope of work, schedule of values, engineering, and the construction schedule are all aligned for the project and are captured appropriately in commercial documents;
- Negotiate, develop, review, track, and finalize all contract exhibits and supporting documentation; and
- Realize the closure of project deals and signing of client project
- Support project preconstruction planning activities after contract signing:
- Contribute to the development and review of the project execution plan for key commercial and risk management components along with training of project teams on such components; and
- Assist the Preconstruction team, Project Managers, and Project Executives with managing and coordinating client project management interfaces prior to project mobilization.
- Support project constructability and risk reviews, including risk identification and management sessions and preparation of the project risk register for each project from estimating through project close out of warranty.
- Support development of contracting positions to mitigate, avoid, or transfer risk exposure that may arise during project execution and translate those positions into the project execution
Project Operations and Warranty Support:
- Act as an advisor and support to project teams and operations leadership on all client management, notices, claims, warranty, and all other commercial or contractual
- Act as an advisor and support to the Procurement team, project teams, and operations leadership as requested on subcontract and vendor management, notices, claims, warranty, and all other commercial or contractual matters.
- Act as an advisor and support to the Insurance team, project teams, and operations leadership as requested on project and company insurance claims management.
- Lead project-focused Contract Managers to ensure timely and accurate provision of commercial management services for projects.
- Champion commercial management as a fundamental component of project management for all projects, along with the commercial management standard operating
- Lead in commercial and contract management training of project management
System and Process Development, Improvement and Controlling:
- Continuously improve the Company's commercial management standard operating procedures, including implementation of all related processes and tools as needed.
- Together with the Preconstruction Department, support the implementation and continuous improvement the Company's risk management standard operating procedures, including all related processes and tools.
- Perform reviews and undertake both site and office-based audits of project teams' adherence to the Company's commercial standard operating procedures.

Qualifications
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 10 years relevant experience
