Risk Management Director manages and administers an organization's risk-management programs. Implements policies, procedures, and controls to monitor and minimize the risk exposure of assets. Being a Risk Management Director researches internal and external risk factors including economic, market, and regulatory risks that may affect the organization. Routinely evaluates the effectiveness of procedures and collaborates with internal stakeholders to monitor changes in the business environment. Additionally, Risk Management Director manages statistical analysis and designing of financial models to predict the risk exposure of an organization's assets. Reviews risk analysis reports to ensure risks are identified and managed effectively. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Risk Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     As a core member of the Operations group, responsible for leading the execution of operations strategy (submissions, quoting/policy servicing, underwriter & broker experience, user support and other areas) for Middle Market. This position includes coordinating efforts of business units by developing process and procedures to improve business decision and performance. Additionally, this role will be responsible for managing a team of operations specialists.

    This dynamic role would report to the VP of Operations and Program Management and would be responsible for working closely with Underwriting Leadership.

    The core responsibilities are:

    • Lead operational strategy and objectives, including standardization/automation of processes to drive increased profitability
    • Manage identification and implementation of business process changes/innovation to improve both efficiency and experience of the operation.
    • Oversee a small team of operations specialists that will support strategy and execution.
    • Develop strategy for enhanced underwriter and broker experience. Be a key member in delivering and operationalizing that strategy, participating in all facets of the value chain.
    • Monitor progress and reporting updates to business unit leaders on operational objectives.
    • Assist in the research, response, and resolution to escalated inquiries and complaints.
    • Support underwriters, brokers, and other department team members with questions and feedback related to Operations processes and producers.
    • Lead training and implementation program for systems and maintain appropriate documentation.
    • Assist in developing and delivering quality assurance and internal/external audit of operations functions.

    Demonstrated Experience for success in this role…

    • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience
    • Minimum 7 years of relevant operations experience
    • P&C insurance expertise – commercial property preferred
    • Business process re-engineering experience
