Risk Management Director manages and administers an organization's risk-management programs. Implements policies, procedures, and controls to monitor and minimize the risk exposure of assets. Risk Management Analyst

  • Summary:
    This role assumes primary responsibility for a range of back-office functions within the Compliance department. These responsibilities encompass conducting monthly reviews, which include but are not limited to loans, new accounts, and wire transactions. The role operates as an independent and impartial entity that examines and assesses compliance matters within the credit union, with a strong focus on guaranteeing the execution of all reviews in strict adherence to established policies and procedures. Additionally, it ensures the completeness of all associated documentation and verifies compliance with both federal and state rules and regulations through the execution of the following duties
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Review recent loan documents and verify that lending policy and procedures are being followed. 
      • Work closely with the Internal Auditor and the Audit and Compliance Manager to ensure all discrepancies are reported and recorded. 
      •  Works with the VP of Lending and VP of Branch Operations to facilitate corrections to accounts.
    • Acts as backup for BSA Officer and assists with reporting CTR and SAR information to FINCEN. 
    • Assists with Audits, Regulatory Exams, and Risk Assessments. 
    • Knowledgeable in compliance-related software including, but not limited to Verafin and Continuity.   
    • Performs the biweekly OFAC scrub and any related FinCen requests via the Bridger database.
    • Participates in the task fulfillment outlined in the audit plan.
    • Assists with investigations of suspected and/or actual fraud
    • Performs Autopsy loan review to ensure quality loan underwriting and credit analysis.
    • Review multiple daily reports to identify potential errors and alerts
    • Supports Internal Auditor and Audit and Compliance Manager as backup when necessary
    • Assist in working with various departments across the organization with ensuring that audit findings are resolved and promptly addressed.
    • Acts as back up to Internal Auditor for processes of death claims, including but not limited to:
      • Ordering death certificates
      • Filing estate claims
      • Working deceased share account
    • Assists with monitoring and tracking High-Risk Accounts
    • Review all returned checks for adherence to hold police and for fraud analysis. Note account in collection module and Branch Suite. Escalate issues to Audit and Compliance Manager as needed.
    • Assist with internal branch audits as needed.
    • Review and processes accounts on the negative share report that have been approved for charge off.
    • Review staff intranet frequently to remain current and up to date on communications, policy and procedures, and guidelines.
    • Works on special projects and other related duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
    Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
