Risk Management Director manages and administers an organization's risk-management programs. Implements policies, procedures, and controls to monitor and minimize the risk exposure of assets. Being a Risk Management Director researches internal and external risk factors including economic, market, and regulatory risks that may affect the organization. Routinely evaluates the effectiveness of procedures and collaborates with internal stakeholders to monitor changes in the business environment. Additionally, Risk Management Director manages statistical analysis and designing of financial models to predict the risk exposure of an organization's assets. Reviews risk analysis reports to ensure risks are identified and managed effectively. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Risk Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Risk Management Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Accountabilities:

    In this role, you will lead the development of global risk management plan related regulatory strategies in collaboration with PSTAs, clinical, medical affairs, and regulatory affairs. You will develop and maintain a framework for training and oversight in RMP strategy, content standardization, quality & implementation across TAs and Marketing Companies(MCs). You will also oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of additional risk minimization measures and materials. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of risk management processes and procedures in collaboration with the process owner.
     

    Essential Skills/Experience:

    • Health professional degree (MD, PharmD, RPh, RN, or related degree) or master’s degree in life sciences or related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in patient safety/pharmacovigilance and risk management
    • Ability to rapidly comprehend the AZ organization and agility in maneuvering across the organization
    • Excellent strategic thinking capability
    • Strong understanding of local Medical Affairs function
    • Knowledge and comprehension of relevant legislation and translation into best practice
    • Superb communication skills
    • Proven ability to communicate and negotiate with major global health authorities
     

    Desirable Skills/Experience:

    • Regulatory strategy knowledge and experience
    • Strategic knowledge of global healthcare systems
    • Proven ability to lead teams and projects across a wide variety of stakeholders
    • Proven ability to develop state-of-the-art risk management/risk communication methods, tools, and technology.
    • RMP-related Publications, presentations, and representation/leadership in relevant external professional bodies/consortium
