Risk Management Director manages and administers an organization's risk-management programs. Implements policies, procedures, and controls to monitor and minimize the risk exposure of assets. Being a Risk Management Director researches internal and external risk factors including economic, market, and regulatory risks that may affect the organization. Routinely evaluates the effectiveness of procedures and collaborates with internal stakeholders to monitor changes in the business environment. Additionally, Risk Management Director manages statistical analysis and designing of financial models to predict the risk exposure of an organization's assets. Reviews risk analysis reports to ensure risks are identified and managed effectively. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Risk Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Risk Management Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Risk control consulting opportunities as an Independent Contractor are available.

    This requires conducting a detailed survey, inspection, and analysis for commercial risks of any size and/or complexity for various lines of coverage for underwriting purposes (such as general liability, workers comp, property and casualty, ergonomic evaluations).

    The consultant will be servicing this region, telecommunicating with us from a home-office. The ideal candidate is either currently working as a consultant for others or has previously worked as a consultant for others.

    Qualifications:

    * A Bachelor's degree or equivalent business/work experience.

    * Three or more years of direct loss control/risk management experience.

    * In-depth knowledge of current OSHA, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), EPA, Life Safety, and other state and local regulations.

    * Certification in risk management or safety designation (ALMA, ARM, CSP, or OHST) is desired.

    * Proven ability in advanced level research, strong communication skills and analytical skills.

    Responsibilities:

    * Scheduling appointments

    * Traveling to policyholder's site and conducting on-site risk evaluations of policyholder's operations

    * Data analysis

    * Completing the appropriate report via a computer

    * Taking digital photos and developing diagrams (when applicable)

    Required knowledge, skills, and/or experience:

    * In-depth knowledge of underwriting and product management skills.

    * In-depth knowledge of loss prevention for at least one commercial lines product.

    * In-depth knowledge of commercial lines of insurance coverage, engineering principals, and loss prevention concepts, safety standards and codes (i.e. OSHA, NFPA, EPA).

    * Strong verbal and written communication skills

    * Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel

    * Ability to work independently

    * Professional work ethic

    * Valid driver's license
