Acts as the liaison to attorneys, insurance companies, and individuals. Additionally, Risk Management Director - Healthcare investigates any incidences that may result in an asset loss. Oversees insurance designed to protect the health system from loss. Collects information related to the claims and lawsuits made against the health system. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Risk Management Director - Healthcare typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. As a coordinator, you will play a crucial role in minimizing patient risk occurrences. The ideal candidate should have clinical experience, with RN experience being preferred.

Qualifications
Role Purpose
Coordinate risk management activities to eliminate or minimize losses due to personal injury, professional liability, property damage or citations from regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities
- Identifies loss exposure, risk control priorities and implements practical problem solving approaches to prevent or minimize loss.
- Develops and coordinates educational programs to employees on topics related to risk management, loss prevention, safety and regulatory issues.
- Develops, maintains, distributes, and provides in-services, and periodically updates various manuals.
- Works with legal counsel and insurance carriers in investigating all incidents, accidents, or events that could lead to financial loss.
- Disseminates information on claim patterns and risk control.
