Right of Way Manager oversees the organization's operations and activities regarding the need for additional land or office space. Researches, negotiates and elects to purchase short- and long-term lease of land agreements and right of way for construction that meet the organization's goals. Being a Right of Way Manager oversees all land related legal issues, including transfers of titles and deeds, construction, mortgage concerns, and zoning. Makes resolutions and other legal forms related to land acquisitions. Additionally, Right of Way Manager may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Right of Way Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     Applications are now being accepted for a Right-of-Way Technician at Ada County Highway District in the Boise, Idaho area. This is a non-exempt, full-time position with a starting wage range of $20.00 - $23.00 per hour, DOQ.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • The Right-of-Way Technician will perform entry level right-of-way work and assist agents, team leads, and supervisor with portions of right-of-way projects. The Technician will assist in completing license agreements, and right-of-way vacations / exchanges.
    • The Right-of-Way Technician will prepare acquisition files, assist in closing transactions, and be responsible for data entry.

    Qualifications:

    • The successful candidate must have some knowledge of real estate title and valuation work; requirements as to form, content, and recording necessary to render the valid legal documents involved; real estate principles, and road construction.
    • Must be able to read maps, plans, profiles and construction drawings and interpret policies and procedures accurately and effectively.
    • Requires the ability to efficiently use computer and related business software.
    • Completion of college level courses related to real estate acquisition, real estate law, appraisal, negotiation, engineering communications, and real estate principles is preferred.
    • Must have a valid Idaho Driver's license.
    • Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities, may be acceptable.
