Right of Way Agent jobs in Lafayette, LA

Percheron is looking for a Senior Right of Way Acquisition Agent to support Operations and Maintenance type work in Louisiana and Mississippi. Prefer the applicant lives in Louisiana and or MS area for this particular position. Per diem will be available on an as needed basis.
Candidate will have the ability to work remote from place of lodging and commute to the subject areas on an as needed basis to support right of way operations and maintenance activities.

• 3 - 5 years Minimum Right of Way Acquisition experience. Operations and Maintenance experience would be a plus.
• Ability to effectively negotiate with private landowners and governmental agencies for access to perform operations and maintenances operations on existing facilities and/or active systems, including but not limited to, fee simple, easements, leases, temporary workspace agreements, licenses, permits and ordinances.
• Ability to plan and organize workload, adjusts to changing priorities, and work well under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Perform internal and external due diligence to ensure accuracy and completeness of land rights or to identify and bring forward deficiencies requiring curative action.
• Serve as liaison with landowner/ tenant on ownership, easement rights, damage claims and access issues.
• Effectively use Owner’s established policies, procedures, processes to perform work.
• Represent company at public meetings before governmental agencies such as municipalities, zoning boards, townships, county commissioners and similar organizations.
• Basic knowledge of settlement instruments and contract terms.
• Solid understanding of Eminent Domain and the process.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of Applications (i.e. Word and Excel, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint) as well as Google Earth or other GIS programs.
