Right of Way Agent prepares organization's need for additional land or office space. Researches, negotiates and elects to purchase short- and long-term lease of land agreements and right of way for construction that meet the organization's goals. Being a Right of Way Agent handles all land related legal issues, including transfers of titles and deeds, construction, mortgage concerns, and zoning. Prepares resolutions and other legal forms related to land acquisitions. Additionally, Right of Way Agent may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Right of Way Agent contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     Position Information

    A Right-of-Way Agent II performs, under close supervision, selected technical assignments relating to the acquisition of real property and various right-of-way required for construction of public improvements; and performs other related duties as required.

    Current Vacancy Information:
    There is one vacancy with the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, Land Division. Under close supervision, assists with the (1) acquisition of real property and real property interests required for the construction, operation and maintenance of the department's water infrastructure; (2) management and use of departmental real property and facilities by other utilities, government agencies, private organizations, etc.; and (3) disposal of surplus departmental real property and real property interests.

    Special Work Requirements: Moderate walking and hiking over undeveloped lands for purposes of inspecting real property.

    Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited college or university with major work in the field of business administration, public administration, economics or a related field.

In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.
