Prepares resolutions and other legal forms related to land acquisitions. Additionally, Right of Way Agent may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Right of Way Agent contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     MAINTENANCE WORKER I - RIGHT OF WAY MOWING CREW

    Department:  Public Works/Stormwater                             Exempt: No

    Reports To: Foreman                                                              Pay Rate: $16.00 hourly

    Position Type: Full-Time                                                        Hours:  40 hours/week

     

    Job Summary:

    This position performs a variety of semi-skilled manual tasks under direct supervision of a foreman, lead worker, or other higher level classified employees. Duties may involve the use of hand and power tools and the operation of light truck and construction equipment as a part of the assignment. Duties may be performed under adverse weather or working conditions.

    Job Description:

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs yard maintenance such as cutting grass, edging, weeding, laying sod, spreading grass seed and fertilizing.
    • Maintain Right of Ways 
    • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Irrigation and tree trim/grounds cleanup experience is desired.

    • An equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered for minimum requirements.

    LICENSES AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

    • Ability to read and write neatly.

    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.

    • Ability to develop and maintain good personal relationship with other employees and the public.

    REASONING ABILITY

    • Ability to follow and apply common sense understanding, to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to work independently and in a diligent manner.

    • Ability to use various hand and power tools related to the job.

    • Good physical condition is essential.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT/ADA: This job requires walking, standing, pushing, bending, stooping, equipment operation and driving. The employee may work in an office environment or outside in various weather conditions. Working in or with moving vehicles and/or equipment may be required as well as working from heights, in dusty condition, with hands, feet, and/or legs in water and may handle chemicals.

    Vision: 20/20 or Corrected to 20/100

    Environment: Inside Work/Outside Work in Various Conditions

    Hearing: Normal to Moderate Noise Levels for Work Environment
