Luna is seeking a Director of Revenue Accounting in our Roanoke, VA, or Atlanta, GA office.

This role will report to the Vice President & Corporate Controller and will be a key contributor to Finance department.

Role Responsibilities

• The Director of Accounting will lead global revenue accounting.
• Serve as accounting subject matter expert on technical revenue recognition matters with expertise in ASC 606.
• Lead the revenue accounting close process, including but not limited to the review of all revenue recognition entries and supporting documentation, and presentation of revenue related reporting.
• Manage the company’s accounting policies and procedures related to revenue accounting.
• Evaluate revenue contracts to ensure alignment with company policies and GAAP principles. and optimize revenue recognition while maintaining compliance.
• Support business with the review of new revenue arrangements for proper revenue recognition.
• Prepare revenue disclosures required for the Company’s SEC filings.
• Support FP&A on the forecasting of revenue as it relates to understanding of revenue recognition.
• Document and support effective internal controls over financial reporting consistent with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX).
• Adhere to all internal controls and assist in controls testing and walkthroughs.
• Support special projects as necessary.

Required Qualifications and Skills B

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA
• 10 years accounting experience
• In-depth knowledge of ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customer

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing and/or hi-tech
• Experience with Oracle NetSuite, SAP Business By Design or comparable ERP
• Moderate to advance level of Excel
