POSITION SUMMARY: A Returns Clerk is responsible for processing customer returns. Employee must Log in all returned and delivered items. This position will work closely with the Customer Care Center, Credit, UPS and sometimes customers in order to process the returns paperwork accurately and efficiently.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Log in all returned and delivered items and research returns without Return Authorization Numbers (RA#) as needed.
- Verify returned product matches with product in bin location. Return all paperwork to returns department upon completion of returning all items to proper locations. When necessary, make modifications to returns paperwork and invoice all restocked credit memos in full through the use of HAL.
- Verify returned product and reshipping of orders. Restock returned product to lo-bay/hi-bay locations.
- Communicate with Customer Care Center on returned orders and occasionally with customers and UPS.
- Notify SanMar employees of packages addressed to them and deliver daily priority packages and mail throughout facility within a timely manner.
- Create and print credit memos & freight invoices.

- Maintain a safe, neat and clean work area by adhering to SanMar’s safety regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and stand. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, handle or feel, to pull/push cart with cleaning supplies, grasp and perform repetitive hand, wrist and arm motions. The employee is frequently required to climb, kneel/squat, bend and carry. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work environment is moderately noisy. The employee is occasionally required to work near conveyor systems. There is exposure to dust and changes in weather conditions. Employee must be able to work in high-demand, high-volume environment and meet customer deadlines. Employee must be able to change priorities or job duties as needed and interact with employees at all levels.
