    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This position is in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Tax and Revenue (OTR), Returns Processing Administration (RPA). The incumbent is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing a portion of the District’s tax program. Duties include, but are not limited to: managing the Returns Processing programs for both paper and electronic filings and Remittance Processing Programs; overseeing the scanning of paper returns into data images; monitoring electronic return and payment submissions; monitoring the tax forms design and development program; and coordinating efforts between OTR and the Lockbox vendor for payment and returns processing and their operations within the terms of the District Tax Code and applicable regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned.Nine (9) years of progressive experience, to include three (3) years of managerial experience performing the related duties and responsibilities such as planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, reviewing, monitoring and evaluating the activities of a mail and payment processing center or tax returns processing unit; developing internal business/strategic plans to achieve goals and objectives; and enhancing processes to improve the receipt and processing of all mail or tax returns, payments and customer service. Knowledge of tax codes, regulations, and policies as it relates to tax returns and technical tax information in order to ensure accurate distribution and processing preferred.Experience that provides the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for this position.
