    Give direction and manage the Store and Space Planning process as it relates to developing fixture plans, merchandising stores and flow guides for Family Dollar Stores, Re-models, and all Cap Ex projects.

    Ensuring all current Store initiatives reflect the latest fixture and merchandising concepts, department adjacencies, merchandise category flow and space allocation. Provide constant and consistent training to all team members.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities 
    • Direct and manage the development of all fixture/merchandise plans for new Family Dollar Stores as they relate to fixture layout, merchandise category flow, category space allocation and fixture buyout requirements in support of the new store opening schedule.
    • Direct the new store opening process as it relates to new store sales floor square footage and merchandise category space allocation based on store type of average, consumable and variety  in support of the current new store sales productivity goal.
    • Create metrics for analysis and approve the merchandise space allocation and category flow for all new stores and re-model store projects based on the category lineal footage space allocation for average, consumable and variety stores. Final category space allocation to be determined by total store lineal footage and sales percent contribution by merchandise category.
    • Facilitate communication between Store Planning and all other cross functional partners to ensure there are no gaps in processes.
    • Direct and manage development of new merchandising initiatives that are developed to drive the business. ( Crafts, Tween,  )
    • Develop, manage and communicate the execution of the fiscal multi-million dollar Cap Ex project initiatives in conjunction with Store Operations and Construction as part of the Store Planning process.
    • Develop and maintain cross functional relationships with areas of related responsibility to include
    • Merchandising, Store Operations, Design and Construction, Real Estate, Legal, Planning and Allocation in support of the Store Planning process and strategic Company goals and objectives.
    • Direct the creation and give final approval for all sales floor block outs of new stores to be reflective of new store design elements that ensure all store layouts meet operational and merchandising objectives as part of the Store Planning process.
    • Supervise a Team of Six Store Planning Analysts.
    Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
    • 4 year College Degree in Business Management or related field.
    • Minimum 3 years Retail Management experience in the areas of Store Planning, Space Management and Visual Merchandising.
    • Highly developed planning, organizational and project management skills.
    • Excellent communication, inter-personal, supervisory, and Team building skills.
    • Demonstrated understanding of store layout/design, fixture development, and merchandise space allocation as part of the Store Planning process.
    • Ability to direct and manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
    • Demonstrated functional experience with Auto Cad in the development of fixture and merchandise plans as part of the Store Planning process.
    Desired Qualifications
    • Ability to develop and incorporate merchandising concepts into store layouts and designs.
    • Basic understanding and knowledge of planogram development.
    • Retail management experience with a national multi-unit Retailer.
