Retail Receiving Clerk - Full Time jobs in Waterbury, CT

Job Responsibilities:

· Print daily orders and cross-check with computer software to ensure accuracy

· Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needs

· Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped

· Affix proper postage to each package in preparation for shipping

· Process orders based on preferred shipping system (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)

· Contact carrier and schedule shipping for each package

· Packs and unpacks orders while maintaining department schedule

· Effectively uses organization systems and warehouse technology to locate and gather stock

· Creates shipping labels and handles shipping information

· Problem solves for customers and suppliers about shipping routes, delayed items, and rush orders

· Performs administrative duties like answering phones, updating records, and providing excellent customer service

· Liaises with warehouse managers about product ordering and storage

· Keeps organized shipping records, including statements of origin, shipping costs, products shipped, and receipt dates

· Troubleshoots shipping issues and customer issues that pop up regularly; works to solve these administrative or organizational problems to increase warehouse and dispatch efficiency

· Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed

· Multitasking to handle various orders at the same time

· Paying attention to detail so that nothing slips through the cracks and causes problems or shipping delays

· Handling numbers with ease, especially in terms of weight and money

· Increasing company productivity through hard work and time management

· Strong organizational skills

· Ability to multitask and prioritize shipping machine

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

· Minimum of a high school education and one year of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving.

· Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and use simple math.

· Computer proficient

· Ability to lift and carry at least 40 pounds
