Loss Prevention Specialist
Loss Prevention Specialist will assist Loss Prevention Manager (LPM) in the protection of assets through the execution of safety, inventory recovery, and internal/external theft reduction programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities:
- Resolve customer complaints with credit card issues.
- Investigate and process internal theft cases by reviewing transactions on the Radiant Sales Manager (RSM), PDI Reports for cash and lottery shortages, LP App Sheet and other programs.
- Prepare and submit reports in a timely fashion.
- Assist with the loss prevention department’s response to security incidents and crisis management.
- Serve as a liaison with operations and law enforcement agencies.
- Process external and internal apprehensions in accordance with company guidelines.
- Identify, report and investigate all allegations of internal theft. Prepare evidence and documentation to facilitate an investigation.
- Perform loss control audits to ensure compliance to all policies related to shrink control, exposures and physical security; communicate and document all violations and advise operations team.
- Assess high shrink stores to identify, measure, and quantify causes of loss, while developing and implementing cost effective solutions to reduce and / or prevent shrinkage.
- Cooperate with and respond to requests by police departments, courts and other public agencies under the direction of Loss Prevention; provide testimony in a variety of hearings and other court related actions.
- Be willing and capable of handling and diffusing hostile situations.
Equipment Use and Maintenance:
- Assist with the effective deployment and ongoing operation of all physical security systems and devices at store level.
- Utilize and monitor camera system to identify, investigate and resolve employee and vendor theft incidents.
- Monitor the cash wrap area of the store for consumer fraud, employee dishonesty and compliance with proper cash handling and cash register policies and procedures.
- Monitor areas of concern for possible “slip and fall” hazards related to employees and customers; presents findings as needed.
- Use DVR technology to track and monitor various activities at store level; work with Loss Prevention team to determine areas to track and monitor.
- Utilize and monitor CCTV camera system to maintain physical security, identify and improve facility operational deficiencies, and support company Safety program.
- Maintain the equipment related to loss prevention and physical security; tests functionality of store loss prevention equipment during store visit.
Training and Development:
- Assist in training employees on loss prevention programs, safety and company policies to include video view logs, robbery prevention & safety, shoplifting, quick change artists, skimming, credit card theft, credit card fraud, counterfeit money, employee theft, sweet hearting, running an open drawer, voids, no sales, and refunds.
- Ensure loss control issues are fully understood by store, field and corporate management.
- Assist with training and coaching of store management on proper procedures and loss prevention standards.

- May not sign contracts on behalf of the company.
- Maintain confidentiality of all company information, is forthcoming in reporting all policy and procedural violations and any wrongdoing to the director of human resources.
Other:
- Able to manage a variety of timelines and multiple projects.
- General Knowledge of criminal laws related to theft, trespassing, vandalism, etc.
- Possess good time management, organizational and people skills.
- Must be task orientated with good attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills required.
- Monday – Friday regular business hours or as business necessitates
- Must have valid driver’s license and be able to go between stores without difficulty.
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Experience is preferred, but not required.
- High School Diploma or GED is required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
