Retail Loss Prevention Auditor analyzes and reviews store accounting, inventory, and transaction data to detect issues and ensure that policies and programs to reduce loss are implemented. Evaluates processes and procedures to identify internal control weaknesses that could result in loss. Being a Retail Loss Prevention Auditor reviews patterns and trends related to product loss. Coordinates with law enforcement to conduct investigations of theft or fraud. Additionally, Retail Loss Prevention Auditor investigates employee policy violations. May require a bachelor's degree.   • Position Title: Store Auditor

    Location: Central/Western ND

    Position Summary: The Store Auditor position is responsible for counting all physical inventory, generating department audit reports, reconciling computer data with the physical counts taken and reporting on errors found.

    Salary Range: $36,000 - $45,000 annually

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
    • Report to management about asset utilization and audit results, and recommend changes in operations and financial activities.
    • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings.
    • Review data about material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stock, surplus, income, and expenditures.
    • Inspect account books and accounting systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions.
    • Examine and evaluate financial and information systems, recommending controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity.
    • Inspect cash on hand, notes receivable and payable, negotiable securities, and canceled checks to confirm records are accurate. performance feedback, and discharge/suspension recommendations following Company policies and statutory requirements and using sound workforce management practices.
    • Examine inventory to verify journal and ledger entries.
    • Examine whether the organization's inventory objectives are reflected in its management activities, and whether employees understand the objectives.
    • Examine records and interview workers to ensure recording of transactions and compliance with laws and regulations.
    • Direct activities of personnel engaged in filing, recording, compiling and transmitting financial records.
    • Produce up-to-the-minute information, using internal computer systems, to allow management to base decisions on actual, not historical, data.
    • Conduct pre-implementation audits to determine if systems and programs under development will work as planned.
    • Participating in general staff meetings, other internal meetings, and serving on committees as may be applicable to department functions, organizational development or as directed by the General Manager.
    • Employee must demonstrate safe work and risk management practices. Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with Parkland USA’s policy and procedure.
    • Ensure that confidentiality of data collected and stored are maintained.
    • Employee is expected to set priorities and meet deadlines. Employee is responsible for planning and carrying out assignments, resolving conflicts that arise, informing and coordinating with others as expected. Employee is accountable for insuring the technical accuracy of their work and maintaining good working relations, both internal and external to Parkland USA. Self-direction and motivation are also expected.
    • Must meet performance expectations; must complete any and all duties as assigned.
    • Frequent travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required–Ability to travel up to 90%, up to 4 overnights per week.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • HS Diploma or GED.
    • 1–3 years previous inventory or retail experience working with inventory.
    • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
    • Reliable Transportation.
    • Must possess strong analytical skills and accurate data entry skills.
    • Ability to process large amounts of work under tight deadlines.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently.
    • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
    • Computer literate with ability to work with auditing software.
    • Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
    • Ability to work long hours, bending, squatting, pulling and pushing product
    • Excellent mathematical skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills required when working with C-Store Team on inventory.
