Branch Retail Supervisor

  • OVERVIEW:

    Ensure efficient and courteous customer relationships, delivery of superior customer service and optimum staffing in the retail branch. Create and establish relationships with customers by promoting customer care and answering complex customer questions. Train and provide guidance to staff. Ensure accurate branch operations and create a positive work environment, while maintaining a secure facility. Perform all tasks in compliance with established Bank policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Ensure superior delivery of customer relationships and exemplary service through supervision and assignment of branch staff.
    • Train, evaluate and direct staff to meet Bank objectives. Direct service efforts to achieve branch goals, provide leadership and direct customer service.
    • Ensure all branch operations are completed accurately and efficiently and conducted in accordance with Bank procedures, security policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Meet with customers to promote customer care and determine overall relationship needs for banking products.
    • Provide servicing to customer accounts, which includes the origination of any retail product or service, closings of consumer loan products, responding to customer correspondence, and receiving customer calls. Troubleshoot and resolve problems and complaints received from customers and subordinates. Approve transactions.
    • Assist in the Bank’s compliance with currency transaction and SAR reporting requirements by monitoring, documenting, and reporting as required under the Bank’s BSA policy.
    • Perform related administrative and managerial functions as assigned, including IRA plan set-up, contributions, distributions, transfers, and policy/product changes.
    • Provide backup oversight of vault, ATM, and teller cash within bank policy as necessary.

    ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Other duties as assigned by Management.
    • Responsible for professional appearance of Branch space.
    • Attend and or conduct monthly staff meetings to ensure Bank policies and initiatives are adequately communicated to staff.
    • Work to identify and minimize the Bank’s exposure to losses due to fraud by ensuring staff consistently follows Bank policies and procedures. Adhere to all established Bank security policies and reports necessary activity to the Security Officer.
    • Maintain updated knowledge of all Retail and Electronic Banking applications, Bank products, regulation changes, policies and procedures, security and compliance regulations.
    • Represent Bank in community organization(s) and activities.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES:

    • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent banking industry experience.
    • Effective leadership and management skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and prospective customers.
    • Solid banking knowledge of banking regulations.
    • Must be computer literate with specific experience with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
    • Excellent management, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, communication, computer skills, including some spreadsheet knowledge and at least intermediate word processing.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents and communicate policies and procedures. Ability to speak effectively and negotiate with clients, vendors, and employees of the Bank.
