This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a detail oriented Residential Property Manager to join a growing real estate development company. The candidate will work onsite at our 288-unit affordable housing residential apartment community in Rahway. The hired candidate will be responsible for leading and directing the leasing, management and maintenance operations of the property.
Job Description
Duties (Areas of Responsibility):
Key financial management, personnel management, and administrative duties include the review of lease preparation documents and other monthly financial documents, working with senior management on the preparation of annual budgets, the monitoring of all administrative paperwork for accuracy, maintenance projects for quality and expediency, and the use of effective leadership techniques with personnel, vendors and tenants.
Specific property management duties include the following:
- Represent the management company in leasing and management of affordable multi-family housing apartment complex
- Complete all resident move-ins, move-outs, transfers and renewals
- Review of the properties’ re-certification process for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness, and maintains accurate records in compliance with all governing agencies.
- Understand compliance and work within fair housing regulations and guidelines from NJHMFA for affordable housing
- Provide for resident services including resolution of maintenance service requests, planning any resident activities and communicating with tenants
- As part of the onsite management team work closely with Building Superintendent to oversee the physical and fiscal assets of the community/property.
- Uphold and enforce all company policies, processes, and procedures
Requirements:
Reporting to the Regional Property Manager, the hired candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years property management experience, preferably with affordable housing properties. Individual should have proven leadership skills, a high level of energy and demonstrated success working both independently and as a team. Strong customer service skills are a necessity. Experience with either Yardi Property or other asset management software and proficiency with Microsoft products is needed.
