Responsibilities and duties for SMHFC Assistant Supervisor: The Assistant House Supervisor is responsible to promote and oversee the consistent implementation of trauma-informed milieu treatment, services & BBI values and principles. This responsibility is within their assigned House, and also across campus as a key agency role model on the team with other House Supervisors and Assistants
· The Assistant Supervisor helps create, monitor and maintain a House environment of consistency, stability and structure by implementing agency policies, procedures and practices in the trauma-informed milieu.
· Help create, monitor and maintain a welcoming environment for clients, families and visitors at the House, ensuring they are engaged and supported throughout all phases of treatment including successes and set-backs.
· Help create and promote an atmosphere of effective communication & teamwork; create an atmosphere of positive curiosity, optimism, cooperation and professionalism.
· Develop and maintain positive, therapeutic relationships with clients and their families; act as the primary communicator (and document so where required) between families, youth, clinical and nursing providers and the milieu when the Supervisor is not present.
· Provide direct supervision, guidance, coaching, support and role modeling for assigned House staff to ensure they carry out the environment created on all shifts.
Qualifications for Assistant Supervisor: Preferred bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Supervisory experience in residential or similar environment is preferred. Must possess good computer, documentation / writing skills and demonstrate strong leadership abilities.
