Job Overview:
The role of Porter Supervisor involves overseeing a team responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of our community. This hands-on position requires strong leadership and practical skills to ensure the overall cleanliness and functionality of our property.
Compensation: $20 – 21 per hour
- FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead by example by actively participating in cleaning tasks when necessary, demonstrating dedication to maintaining community standards
- Provide guidance and leadership to a team of porters, ensuring the efficient completion of cleaning and maintenance tasks for our communities
- Organize and prioritize cleaning schedules, ensuring that all areas receive regular attention and upkeep
- Perform routine inspections of common areas, promptly addressing any cleaning or maintenance issues that arise
- Collaborate closely with property management to address resident concerns and requests, maintaining a positive resident experience
- Manage the inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, initiating orders as needed to support the team's work
- Train and onboard new porters, familiarizing them with cleaning protocols and quality standards
- Cultivate a collaborative team environment, encouraging open communication and teamwork
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing and motivating teams
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage tasks and schedules effectively
- Excellent communication skills for interactions with both staff and residents
- Problem-solving aptitude to address maintenance issues promptly
- Detail-oriented mindset to ensure high-quality work output
- Basic computer proficiency for documenting work and communication
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Background in property management or related field is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions

Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 7a – 4p with some evenings and weekends.
