Residential Living Assistant provides individualized care to the patients of a group home or residential living facility. Assists the patients on daily basis with personal care and hygiene. Being a Residential Living Assistant transports patients within the facility or on supervised outings. Administers and records medications given to residents. Additionally, Residential Living Assistant may administer medications under the supervision of a nurse or physician. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Residential Living Assistant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Our Residential team at Spaulding Academy & Family Services is seeking Residential Assistants to support students, ages 4-21 years old, with neurological impairments (that include autism, intellectual disabilities, emotional disorders) and behavioral challenges of those who have experienced significant trauma, abuse or neglect.
This position is primarily to provide direct care during non-school hours to students who live on our campus. The role encompasses the supervision and engagement of students, implement objectives and behavioral support plans. You will teach daily living skills, community integration and socialization to our students as well as participating and engaging students in all residential activities.
