Residential Living Assistant jobs in North Carolina
Residential Living Assistant provides individualized care to the patients of a group home or residential living facility. Assists the patients on daily basis with personal care and hygiene. Being a Residential Living Assistant transports patients within the facility or on supervised outings. Administers and records medications given to residents. Additionally, Residential Living Assistant may administer medications under the supervision of a nurse or physician. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Residential Living Assistant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. This position is a pooled position. Immediate opening might not be available. Position will be filled based upon need of department.
This position will perform a variety of duties in the care and cleaning of Residential Living facilities. Duties include physically challenging activities such as moving furniture, operating heavy cleaning equipment, carrying trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, walls, windows and light fixtures, minor maintenance and other related tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this PositionThe ability to follow written and verbal instruction; the ability to perform medium to heavy physical work; the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; and the ability to work effectively with others.
Minimum QualificationsSome knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred QualificationsGraduation from high school or an equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred.
