Columbia Basin Care is currently looking for a Medical Records Director to join our team. In this position, you are responsible for maintaining resident healthcare information and records for our Skilled Nursing Facility. This position will focus on ensuring the facility meets State, Federal and HIPAA requirements. The right candidate will be a team player, organized, have attention to detail, good time management, ability to learn and use medical records software, and communicate well with others.
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years medical records experience preferred
- Multitask and apply common sense understating to carry out detailed written or oral instruction
- Knowledge of modern office equipment and systems
- Ability to read, write, and use a computer
- Ability to use excel, word, and Microsoft 365
Responsibilities Included but are not limited to:
- Maintain confidentiality standards for medical records
- Input orders
- Organize charts for new admissions and enter into EHR system
- Collect, assemble, check and file resident charts
- Run MDS reports and track calendars for completion
- Run daily Census Reports
- Organize discharge charts
- Coordinate project activities and work as a team with other members
- Organize and Maintain agendas for monthly and quarterly compliance meetings regarding quality assurance and prevention
- Maintain active status with CMS platforms for receiving and transmitting data
- Submit PBJ reports
- Locate and send off orders for signature
- Handle incoming phone calls and requests for Medical Records
- Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly audits for department
- Follow up with hospitals, clinicals, and specialty appointments for follow-up documentation
- Utilize the computer to input and maintain data for audit tracking
- Other assigned duties
