Residential Care Medical Director plans and directs all aspects of clinical care at an assisted living or skilled nursing facility. Ensures that clinical programs operate in compliance with all applicable regulations. Being a Residential Care Medical Director provides patient consultations as needed and manages relationships between staff and attending physicians. Advises non-medical management on clinical and patient related matters and policies. Additionally, Residential Care Medical Director requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a state license to practice medicine. Typically reports to top management. The Residential Care Medical Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function.     Job Summary:

    We are recruiting for a Residential Administration Manager for our Adult Residential Care Facility, Howard House, in Escondido, CA. This person will be responsible for maintaining the facilities licensing protocols and compliance with all requirements. This person will oversee operations of Howard House and be involved in working with residents and their families as well as other healthcare professionals.

    We are looking for a dedicated, flexible and self starting individual who can build and lead teams, is detail-oriented and demonstrates commitment to our Howard House community. This person should excel as a communicator, be highly organized and exhibit great compassion.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Maintain Certification: Maintain current Adult Residential Facilities Certification (ARF) with the State of California Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing
    • Resident Evaluation: Evaluate potential residents to determine their suitability for placement at care housing facility; process must adhere to the regulations set forth by the CCLD
    • Individualized Program: Work with residents, their families, conservatorship, healthcare professionals, and the community to develop an individualized program that aligns with the activities and services offered
    • Needs and Services Planning: Develop a comprehensive needs and services plan for all current and future residents, taking into account their specific requirements and preferences; this includes but is not limited to resident scheduling, setting medical and therapy appointments, resident outings, developing monthly meal menus, and ensuring necessary groceries are available
    • Licensing Requirements: Ensure compliance with all licensing requirements for resident placement prior to admission; conduct pre-admission assessments; ensure facility is in compliance with state and federal regulations; prepare for and participate in facility licensing reviews and audits; meet requirements to maintain current ARF Certification
    • Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records pertaining to resident and support staff information, as well as documentation related to the organization
    • Operations and Maintenance: Oversee all day-to-day operations, needs, services, scheduling, delegations, training, and maintenance related to the facility and its property
    • Service Adjustments: Monitor and evaluate the needs and services provided to residents and make adjustments as necessary to ensure residents well-being and satisfaction
    • Staffing Management: Recruit and recommend for hire and termination of support staff. Foster and maintain a positive and healthy work environment. Conduct performance reviews, provide corrective consultation, reinforce teamwork among staff, coordinate and implement on-going staff training, and promote company programs and fundraisers in collaboration with the office staff including but not limited to maintaining staff needs and scheduling.
    • Medical Documentation and Management: Maintain updated documentation of residents' medical conditions, appointments, and other relevant information; oversee ordering of resident medication (prescription and over-the-counter), create medication sheets, ensure resident dosage accuracy, document all medication administration appropriately and coordinate staff and med-tech training and certification.

    Required experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities:

    • Adult Residential Facility Certification, registered with the California Community Care Licensing is required.
    • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Administration, or similar degree highly preferred
    • A minimum of 1 year of experience as an adult facility administrator, direct care staff, caregiver, or equivalent is required if you do not possess a minimum of an Associate’s degree
    • Experience working as a caregiver, direct support staff or relevant hands on care for adults with brain injuries or other developmental special needs is highly desired
    • Proficient with the regulations and requirements set forth by licensing authorities, such as the California Community Care Licensing Division and the Medi-Cal Assisted Living Waiver Program
    • Leadership or administrative experience demonstrating effective collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
    • Experience in supervising and training support staff, while fostering healthy and welcoming work and facility environments
    • Able to demonstrate flexibility and a commitment to ensuring the smooth operation of the facility and the well-being of the residents
    • Must be able to work on-call and outside of regularly scheduled hours
