Residential Care Medical Director jobs in Bellingham, WA

Residential Care Medical Director plans and directs all aspects of clinical care at an assisted living or skilled nursing facility. Ensures that clinical programs operate in compliance with all applicable regulations. Being a Residential Care Medical Director provides patient consultations as needed and manages relationships between staff and attending physicians. Advises non-medical management on clinical and patient related matters and policies. Additionally, Residential Care Medical Director requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a state license to practice medicine. Typically reports to top management. The Residential Care Medical Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Residential Care Medical Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Responsibilities:
    • Provide primary care services in post-acute care facilities, including skilled nursing and assisted living
    • Drive high-quality, safe, and cost-effective patient care
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and follow CMS guidelines
    • Work closely with hospice, palliative care, and home care agencies for safe patient transitions
    • Provide oversight, guidance, and mentorship to clinicians within facilities
    Qualifications:
    • Background in providing primary care in internal medicine (IM), family medicine (FM), emergency medicine (EM), urgent care, physiatry, PM&R, or geriatrics
    • Ability to work flexible schedules
    Compensation is fee for service (FFS). Expected compensation is estimated salary range of minimum $60,000 annually and maximum of $108,000 annually.
