  • We are seeking an overnight (10PM-6AM), in-home caregiver for a new 6-bed Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) in Corona, CA! You will work in a residential home with a dedicated team of caregivers in a nurturing environment, providing care for six non-ambulatory elderly clients.

    ABOUT THE JOB:

    Caregivers in RCFE's play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of clients. Here's a list of duties you will typically provide:

    • Personal Care Assistance: Assisting clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
    • Medication Management: Help administer medications as prescribed and ensuring clients take them on time. Keeping accurate records of medication schedules and any changes.
    • Health Monitoring: Observing and monitoring clients' health, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
    • Meal Preparation and Assistance: Planning and preparing nutritious meals based on clients' dietary needs. Assisting clients with eating if necessary.
    • Mobility Support: Providing support for clients with mobility challenges. Assisting with walking, transfers, and the use of mobility aids.
    • Emotional Support: Offering companionship and emotional support to clients. Engaging in conversations and recreational activities to promote mental well-being.
    • Housekeeping: Maintaining a clean and safe living environment for clients. Performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying up.
    • Record Keeping: Keeping detailed records of clients' care plans, activities, and any notable changes in health or behavior.
    • Communication: Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and other staff members. Providing updates on clients' well-being and any changes in their care plans.
    • Emergency Response: Being trained to respond to emergencies and following established protocols. Ensuring the safety and well-being of clients during emergency situations.
    • Recreation and Activities: Planning and organizing recreational activities to keep clients engaged and stimulated.

    ABOUT YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education: Ability to complete a caregiver training program (20 hours).
    • Employment Eligibility Verification: Must be over 18 years old and provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
    • Certifications: First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
    • Health and Immunizations: Pass a physical health screening and a current tuberculosis (TB) test is required.
    • Background Check: Must pass a livescan criminal background check.
    • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, their families, and other staff members.
    • Compassion and Empathy: A compassionate and empathetic nature to provide emotional support to elderly clients.
    • Patience and Flexibility: Patience in dealing with the challenges that may arise while caring for the elderly. Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and schedules.
    • Knowledge of Aging and Health Issues: Basic knowledge of aging processes and common health issues faced by the elderly. Understanding of dementia and other cognitive impairments is often beneficial.
    • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other caregivers, healthcare professionals, and support staff in the facility.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Awareness of and adherence to local and state regulations governing residential care facilities.
    • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think critically and solve problems related to client care and well-being.
