Note: This position works 40 hours per week 9:00 am -5:00 pm with the potential for rotating on-call weekends.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years experience in medical billing
• preferred 1 year experience with medical coding
• Familiarity with medical terminology and detail oriented
• Ability to work well in teams
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

• Assists and submits Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party payers claims to appropriate agencies. Processes claims to appropriate primary, secondary, and/or tertiary insurance companies according to insurance guidelines.
• Verifies completeness and accuracy of all claims prior to submission.
• Completes all billing, collections, posting, and analyses.
• Thoroughly reads and interprets insurance explanation of benefits, remittances, and other communication.
• Utilize monthly aging accounts receivable reports to follow up on unpaid claims aged over 30 days.
• Responds to requests and inquiries from contract billing companies. Resolves issues with billing company timely and with courtesy.
• Review medical charts to determine appropriate codes for charges and services incurred
• Assist with the Facility admissions process
