Residential Care Facilities Manager oversees facility services at an assisted living or skilled nursing facility, including building and grounds maintenance, laundry and housekeeping.     Job Summary

    The Recreation & Facilities Manager, is responsible to plan, organize and direct community events, assist the General Manager with the maintenance and operations of all recreation/social facilities, including the Canyon Club and all parks of the Crystal Cove Community Association and to assist the General Manager with completion of other management obligations.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Conduct regular inspections and evaluate recreation facilities, maintenance activities and safety conditions and proactively address maintenance, repair and replacement issues including, but not limited to, obtaining proposals as necessary for non-contracted maintenance issues and long term replacement items to assure a condition consistent with the Board's standards
    • Act as liaison for all vendors performing work on-site when related to the Canyon Club and/or parks. Assist in the creation and presentation of recommendations for changes to policies, rules and programs related to the operation and/or use of the Crystal Cove recreation facilities.
    • Complete punch list items as assigned by the General Manager.
    • Perform such other operational duties as are assigned from time to time by the General Manager.

    Responsibilities for Community Events

    • Plan and coordinate all annual and special community events.
    • Obtain proposals from vendors for community event services and present same (as necessary) to the Board of Directors for approval.
    • Serve as staff liaison and provide administrative support to volunteer committees.
    • Prepare and present to the Board of Directors written financial reports per activity and future event proposals as necessary.
    • Annually in conjunction with the preparation of the Annual Association Operating Budget, propose an Events Budget to the Board for approval. Events budget shall be in based on input of the residents of the Community and modified based on resident input from time to time.

    Responsibilities for Canyon Club & Parks

    • Conduct regular inspections and evaluate facilities, maintenance activities and safety conditions and proactively address maintenance, repair and replacement issues such as, obtaining proposal to assure a condition consistent with the Board's standards.
    • Facilitate support functions and compliance with Police, Fire, Public Works, and other municipal/governmental agencies.
    • Maintain direct communication with all service providers that impact the appearance, safety, and working condition of the recreation facilities.
    • Oversee all Community sponsored recreation and social events.
    • Monitor the services of the aquatics vendor, swimming instructors and swim coaches.
    • Manage the activities calendar and schedule the use of the Abalone Room & Reef Point Park to prevent scheduling conflicts.
    • Follow approved priority use of facilities guidelines when scheduling private parties, monthly meetings, annual meetings, public election polling place, etc.
    • Oversee completion of and timely processing of Canyon Club and other facility rental applications to ensure accuracy and compliance with community regulations.
    • Accurately manage and account for rental fees and deposit receipts.

    • 2 or more years of experience working in a facilities or events related role
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Bachelor's Degree desired

    • Ability to walk extensive slope and/or flat association areas and visually review landscape, building areas, recreation facilities, parks etc. to ensure proper maintenance.
    • Ability to work late into evenings as required for board meeting attendance.

    This is a full-time position with typical scheduled hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. May be required to work overtime as needed and approved by supervisor, including occasional evening meetings. Consistent and regular attendance required.
