A level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Additionally, Research and Development Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members.     AVAILABILITY: Evening shifts, weekends

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Engineer Supervisor is responsible for direct supervision of all engineering and maintenance personnel, as well as assisting in maintaining the general condition of the property, with regards to all aspects of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and painting work. Assigns and assists in completing work orders from all departments on a timely basis. Assigns, supervises and assist in preventive maintenance for all building equipment and guest rooms

     

    JOB DUTIES

    • Review, prioritize, and issue daily assignments to Engineering and Maintenance staff.
    • Order, organize tools and equipment to perform daily assignments.
    • Maintain timeliness and work schedule in accordance with preventive maintenance program.
    • Check work orders and night report for any problems and resolve in a timely manner.
    • Schedule work in advance with repairs and maintenance in guest rooms. Coordinating with Housekeeping and Front Office.
    • Oversee electrical repairs and installation.
    • Oversee and perform plumbing repairs.
    • Oversee and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
    • Oversee and perform any maintenance in guest rooms and public areas.
    • Assist the engineers and maintenance personnel in all phases of repair work.
    • Adjust work schedule to cover vacations, personal leave and holidays when necessary.
    • Maintain proper supply and tool inventory so employees can accomplish their assignments efficiently.
    • Ensure security of any assigned keys.
    • Assist outside contractors when needed.
    • Assume responsibility of engineer on duty when necessary.
    • Help in the recommendation of energy saving ideas.
    • Follow, and enforce all O.S.H.A. and safety guidelines.

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • High school graduate or equivalent
    • Prior Maintenance experience
    • Working knowledge of:
      • Air Conditioning and Heating
      • Plumbing codes
      • Electrical codes
      • National/Local fire codes
      •         Mechanical codes
      • Swimming Pool Maintenance
      • Blue Prints and Plumbing Schematics
      • Power and hand tools, meters, etc, as it relates to the technical trades
    • Has thorough knowledge and understanding of general repairs and maintenance.
    • Must possess very good interpersonal and communication skills; will be interfacing with a high percentage of guests as well as other staff members.  
    • Must be flexible to work all shifts, may be required to work overtime on occasion when the department is short of staff.
    • The ability to listen, learn, be helpful in all situations and make the most sound decisions toward the resolution of a potential problem.
