    Job Summary
    The Assistant Director of Development Research (AD) is a member of a collaborative research team responsible for providing a wide range of research services to members of the College’s Development & Alumni Relations (DAR) Division, the Office of the President, and the Board of Trustees. The AD manages research requests and proactive research projects for assigned DAR departments aimed at identifying and prioritizing prospects for both giving and engagement. The AD works closely with DAR management, other Research staff, and frontline colleagues to set prospect identification goals, assign capacity and other ratings, and develop strategy for cultivation and stewardship of both individuals and groups.
    The ideal candidate will have experience gathering and analyzing data from multiple sources and creating actionable research products. The AD will use a variety of DAR systems and external resources to build meaningful biographical and statistical profiles of Bowdoin’s constituencies to further the College’s fundraising and engagement efforts.

    • The salary Range for this position is expected to be: Minimum $59,000 – Maximum $64,000.

    Education/Skills Requirements
    Bachelor’s degree required. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills; proven ability to create a variety of written reports for a wide range of audiences. Demonstrated research, data collection, analysis, and presentation skills; attention to accuracy and detail is essential. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and handle highly confidential information with discretion; strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Critical thinker with the desire to work creatively; experience using new tools and technologies to meet and exceed goals and expectations. Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft 365 Suite of tools, and experience using complex relational databases; knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred.

    Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents
    A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required; experience as part of a fundraising team preferred

    Standard Work Days and Hours
    This is an exempt position requiring time commitment necessary to satisfactorily complete job requirements. Hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
