Director, Business Development-Flex

  • Position Summary:  As the Director, Business Development-Flex you will be under the direction of the VP, Business Development & Relationship Management.  You will have the responsibility for all business development/sales activities in the targeted territory.  
    In this role there will be a mixture of prospecting for new business and managing current client relationships. You will develop sales strategies to enhance market presence and customer share, as well as demonstrate business acumen in navigating a variety of sales scenarios.     Position Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
    • Prospecting and business development skills 
    • The ability to build strong partner relationships 
    • Experience holding a successful business conversation with a variety of contact types within an organization (including senior/board level contacts) and establish appropriate agreed next actions 
    • Ability to deeply understand their unique company challenges and goals 
    • Ability to build market awareness and create cross sell and upsell opportunities, successfully positioning the company’s strategy, vision, and market leadership with key business executives and functional decision-makers in all customers and prospects 
    • Proven track record/history of overachieving quota 
    • Comfort in speaking to targeted areas of business growth including Data Science/Biometrics (Programming, Clinical Data Management, Biostatistics, etc.), safety/PVG, Clinical Operations, and Medical Writing 
    • Proven ability to build a pipeline managing opportunities through the sales funnel 
    • Comfort with enterprise and transactional sales models 
    • Excellent qualifying skills to uncover key decision makers, budget availability and key decision factors 
    • Proven closing skills including identifying buying signals, asking for the business, timely follow up 
    • Work in conjunction with the Proposals & Contracts Group to respond to RFIs and RFPs and negotiate contracts. 
    • High creativity, flexibility and the capacity to multitask and create a real impact for the Catalyst Flex business. 
    • Commitment to keeping CRM up to date to ensure accurate deal status and corporate reporting

    Position Qualifications and Requirements: 

    Education:  Minimum Bachelor’s degree (advance and/or health care related degree preferred; M.S., B.S.N, R.Ph, Pharm D., preferred). 

    Experience:  Clear understanding of the clinical development process and related services. 6 years of high-level sales experience with a track record of successfully selling multimillion-dollar healthcare/CRO services into the biopharmaceutical industry. .
