    DUTIES:
    The Director of Research & Development will design and develop new products that comply with FDA and international regulatory requirements.
    Essential job responsibilities:
    1. Develops new processes under pharmaceutical conditions for creating synthetic nicotine products, replacing natural products and creating new projects involving complex delivery devices/products; including gums, e-liquids and polymer-based systems for nicotine and other actives.
    2. Liaises with product development partners on creating formulations, as well the manufacturing regulatory requirements, to ensure compliance with US and International Pharmaceutical/Regulatory and Authorities.
    3. Develops and designs dosage forms integrating novel approaches like flavor encapsulation techniques, taste masking, flavor complexations, spray-dried techniques, extruder and spheronization, hotmelt granulations, particle coating, pulverization, and plating techniques.
    4. Engineers the manufacturing techniques from lab conception through pilot production to mass production, using scientific methods.
    5. Develops the dosage forms with the Quality by Design principle and Design of Experiments to meet global market regulatory requirements.
    6. Acts as a spokesperson for all aspects of product development, manufacturing and testing and advises senior management.
    7. Key member of a cross-functional team to prepare, review, compile, and submit regulatory dossier module documents related to DMF, TPMF, and PMTA submissions.
    8. Interacts with subject matter experts and regulatory authorities, as required, including preparation for and attendance at meetings and teleconferences to advance research objectives.
    9. Utilizes knowledge of conversion of liquid formulation to powder formulations to create new product offerings.
    qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or related field;
    • Knowledge of spray drying, encapsulation, and nano emulsion technologies;
    • 10 years experience in Research & Development in line with QBD principles and FDA protocols;
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows 7 and 10;
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment;
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results.
    • This position requires regular presence in the office.
    • Satisfactory background check and execution of Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement required.
    • Limited travel to Europe and India required.
    HOURS OF WORK PER WEEK:
    • 40
    SALARY:
    • $160,035.00 to $170,000.00 annually.
