    Job Description:

    Position Title: Community Mental Health Postdoctoral Psychology Fellow

    Position Summary: This is a one year 2000 hour postdoctoral fellowship focused on providing care on an outpatient basis to the community mental health population. Clients present with a wide range of diagnostic issues and complicating psychosocial factors. Our clients include individuals from historically underserved and underrepresented groups. The ideal postdoctoral fellow has a background in providing multiculturally competent care, and has sensitivity to intergenerational trauma. Postdoctoral fellows may opt to concentrate on either adult or child populations.

    The postdoctoral fellow will additionally have the opportunity to supervise psychology interns and practicum students in our APA accredited internship program. Primary responsibilities include provision of psychotherapy and psychological assessment. The fellow serves as a member of multidisciplinary teams, offering consultation to stakeholders within the organization to support diagnostic clarification and grounded, holistic treatment planning. There are additional opportunities in this fellowship for community outreach, cross disciplinary collaboration with psychiatry residents, designing and conducting didactics, and leading seminars.

    Centerstone offers care to community members across the lifespan, as well as in a stepped care model ranging from outpatient psychotherapy, to residential and inpatient services. Centerstone is part of a larger not-for-profit network which seeks to support those who might otherwise not have access to mental health care.     Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology from an APA accredited program; Completion of an APA accredited internship or equivalent.

    Preferred Qualification: Desire to work with a community based population; Knowledge of Family Systems; Training and/or experience in Motivational Enhancement or Motivational Interviewing; Prior provision of trauma informed care.

    Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of community resources and evidence based practices for psychotherapy.

    Essential Functions:

    Reports to work as scheduled on a daily basis and performs assigned duties to ensure the smooth operation of the psychology department.

    Performs and documents comprehensive psychodiagnostic evaluations.

    Provides counseling/psychotherapy and ancillary services.

    Provides consultation regarding services provided.

    Supervision of psychology interns and practicum students.

    Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Work Environment/Physical Demands: Works in well-lighted areas. Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during work hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions. Is involved with clients, residents, family members, personnel, visitors, in a behavioral health setting.

    Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel: This is a full time, exempt position. Typical hours of work are Monday through Friday.
