Provide services as a Research Fellow in support of the overall functions of the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) within the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and promote activities designed to develop collaborative research with research colleagues and support staff internally and to actively develop appropriate external contacts and networks relevant future collaboration and funding opportunities.
• Lead major research and/or consultancy projects.
• Lead relevant meetings associated with the research project or related activities.
• Ensure that responsibilities identified within internal processes such as Health and Safety guidelines etc are robustly met by all research team members.
• Take lead responsibility for resolving problems affecting the delivery of research projects and for planning and implementing future research projects that emerge from the current project.
• Contribute to the teaching profile of the department.
• Undertake any other duties relevant to the program of research.

• Independently undertake advanced research in the lab using, or developing, the appropriate methods and/or techniques and managing associated staff and/or student contributions to the project.
• Lead the production of high-quality research reports and/or publications for dissemination to the wider academic community.

Basic Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
• Significant knowledge of Epigenome Biology and Epigenetic mechanisms.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail
• Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Support and perform time sensitive scholarly research by authoring research projects, conducting literature reviews, collecting and analyzing data and preparing manuscripts.
• Advise, supervised junior postdoctoral fellows in all facets of research projects including initial experimental design and technical support.
• Initiate and maintain collaborations with other investigators while successfully guiding the lab's research projects.
• Design, document and present efficient studies and present the results
