Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) oversees all activities of a residence hall. Responsible for student housing assignment, maintenance of facilities, and safety of residents. Being a Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) ensures students follow college/university conduct policies and takes appropriate disciplinary actions when rules are broken. Incumbent is not given room and board at the residence hall as part of the employment arrangement. Additionally, Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) oversees maintenance and renovation, purchase and inventory of supplies, assignment of semester rooms and summer housing, housekeeping functions, and management of student conduct and discipline. Room and board in the residence hall is not included in the terms of employment. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Res. Hall Manager (No Room, Board) supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. To be a Res.     The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for an Agriculture Pesticide Compliance Section Manager located in Boise, ID.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure strict adherence to pesticide regulations and laws, drafting and proposing changes when necessary.

    • Recommend and implement agricultural best management practices to protect the environment from the potential adverse effects of pesticides.

    • Develop and control the section budget, approving expenditures related to pesticide compliance programs.

    • Hire, coach, and evaluate staff; establish and monitor pesticide compliance section goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.

    • Provide technical assistance to subordinate supervisors or staff involved in pesticide compliance initiatives.

    • Represent the department at state and national conferences, advisory boards, commissions, and other relevant meetings, fostering collaboration and staying informed on industry developments.

    • Resolve issues through mediation and arbitration, making recommendations on appeals to the department.

    • Determine the advisability of legal actions and provide recommendations in relation to pesticide compliance programs.

    • Provide testimony at legislative committees and contribute to the development of memorandums-of-understanding and agreements with various stakeholders.

    • Develop priorities and work plans for effective implementation of pesticide compliance initiatives within the section.

    • A cell phone with an Idaho area code, furnished by the employee, is required for this position and is eligible for reimbursement under the Cell Phone Reimbursement policy;

    • Conduct other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications: This qualification is a mandatory requirement.

    • Good knowledge of management practices.

    Specialty Qualifications: These qualifications are mandatory requirements.

    • Some knowledge of computer operations and word processing software.

    • Experience working as a liaison, including communicating and negotiating with another organization.

    Desirable Qualification: Although not required, having these qualificaitons may increase your chance of being called for an interview.

    • Experience reviewing laws, regulations, policies and/or procedures for compliance or explaining to others how they apply to specific situations.

    • Good knowledge of pesticide compliance and regulation.

    • Experience working within the pesticide industry.

    • Experience and understanding with the application of the Federal Insecticide Fungicide Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).

    • Experience conducting pesticide and chemigation compliance inspections.

    • Experience using a pesticide compliance database.

    • Experience researching pesticide use and distribution compliance regulations and how they apply to local stakeholders.
