Overview:
The San Diego Business Journal is looking to hire a full-rime reporter to cover a variety of industries and business news. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Journalism, Communications or a related field of study. The ideal candidate will have experience reporting for print publications and have a portfolio of clips that demonstrate their ability to report and write in AP style. Business writing experience is preferred, but will train the right reporter if there is a candidate with talent in news reporting and a desire to learn business reporting.

- Excellent research abilities to gather accurate information
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft engaging news articles
- Knowledge of journalistic principles and ethics
- Proficiency in photography is a plus
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus
- Attention to detail for proofreading and editing articles
- Strong fact-checking abilities
This position is a hybrid of outside reporting and in-office writing conducted within a strict 40 hours a week. Pay is $45,000 to $55,000 a year, depending on experience.
