    Job Description

    The Ford Agency is recruiting for a Registered Professional and Certified Realtime Court Reporter with excellent stenographic skills for a MD-based government agency. The Court Reporter will be responsible for providing high-level, confidential, accurate, and punctual transcription services for a variety of events including litigation and investigation hearings. This role is expected to start by mid to late March.

    Responsibilities Include:
    • Providing court recording and transcription services for fact finding conferences, negotiations, hearings, depositions, and other legal meetings or events incident to litigation or investigation.
    • Providing verbatim transcriptions of recorded or live hearings/witness interviews.
    • Setting up and operating stenography equipment, hardware, software, audio, and similar tools
    • Preparing and distributing transcripts and reports
    • Locating and reading back portions of proceedings and verbatim as requested

    Qualifications Include:
    • High school diploma
    • Two-year Degree; or professional certification in Court Reporting in lieu of Degree
    • Minimum of 1 years' experience as a Court Reporter
    • Ability to operate a stenographic machine at 200 wpm minimum
    • Proficiency in English language, both written and oral
    • Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) certification and Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR) certification
    • Successful completion of a court reporting training program from a recognized program NCRA and Maryland Federal Government
