Rental Technician performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on rental fleet equipment. Trained to remove, disassemble, assemble, clean components. Being a Rental Technician begin to use service manuals properly and select correct tools, specifications. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Rental Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Rental Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS |
· Troubleshoot and diagnose problems on equipment from small hand tools to large equipment by visual inspection and by the use of testing and diagnostic equipment. · Repair equipment from small hand tools to large equipment. · Assist in cost estimates of repairs needing done. · Perform all needed PM and services as per maintenance schedule. · Maintain cleanliness of shop. |
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS |
· Assist customers in loading and unloading rental equipment. |
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY |
· High School diploma or equivalent. PREFERRED · Completion of a formal mechanic program |
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS |
· Normal business hours, Monday thru Friday. Some Saturday work and early or late hours as needed. · Stand 8 hours a day · Use hands for repetitive fine manipulation, grasping, pushing and pulling. · Operation and use of power and electrical tools. · Use feet frequently in repetitive movement. · Work heights from ladder or man lifts. · Work is done both inside and outside the building. · Able to operate hand tools, power tools, air tools, Forklift, manlift, Trucks and trailers, motor grader, loader, backhoe, skid steer, excavator, roller, scissor lift, generators, pressure washers, trencher, mini-excavator, crane, hoist, drill press, hydraulic press. · Valid drivers’ license required (driving record must meet company insurance standards; driving record is reviewed annually) |
