Job Title: Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician
Department: Quality Assurance Laboratory
Reports To: Laboratory Supervisor
Responsibilities assumed when absent by: Alternate laboratory technician; alternate qualified employee
Summary Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process to ensure product meets customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Pulls product at various stages in the production process to test for a variety of qualities such as weights, labeling, and packaging.
Ensures process checks are done properly and at the correct frequency.
Inspects incoming ingredients to ensure proper labeling, packaging, and has not been tampered with.
Plays a key role in making sure employees are following procedures, policies, and GMPs
Ensures compliance with HACCP, most current SQF codes, and local and federal regulatory requirements as well as food safety and quality prerequisite programs.
Places non-conforming product on a QC hold, until further investigation is completed.
Performs instrument calibrations on all equipment used for testing.
Performs water quality tests on RO & Distillation units to ensure units are functioning properly.
Responsible for batching minerals
Plays a key role in the raw material, and packaging traceability program

Education and/or Experience
