Rental Quality Control Technician monitors overall quality of machines, and component repairs performed by the Service Department. Maintains records of results and prepares reports. Job Purpose: The QA Technician’s primary responsibility is to support the QA manager in maintaining compliance with Seafood HACCP regulations, customer requirements, food safety certifications, regulatory and compliance standards for all products. To perform pre-operation SOP (standard operation procedures), post-operation SOP, sanitary SOP, HACCP, and GMP inspections and documenting results. QA Technicians are responsible for conducting raw, in-process, and finish product testing (chemical and microbiological), along with product review quality against customer and company specifications and documenting the results for fresh and frozen seafood.
Pay: $16 - $18 an hour depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Perform QA inspections on all inbound, work in process, and outbound products for Temperature, Net Weight, Labeling, Packaging and Sensory evaluation
Monitor and document inspection of facility, production lines, scales, trucks, etc.
Reports all defects and non-conformities immediately to management.
Inspect daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation procedures of the plant according to Company SSOP’s.
HACCP monitoring activities
Perform detailed inspection and documentation of product quality, including pictures.
Perform Calibration of various equipment used to monitor CCP’s or CQP’s established by the QA department.
Conduct organoleptic evaluations of raw and cooked products
Assist training of operations team on food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
Responsible for monitoring the employees in accordance with allergen, cross contamination, labeling, and food defense procedures.
Participate in scheduled GMP, HACCP, Food Safety and other audits as required
Accurately fill out all required paperwork
Conduct corrective action plans for non-conforming products
Perform duties per Ren Seafoods Inc, HACCP procedures and SSOP.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
HACCP knowledge / Previous QA experience a plus
Preferred experience in food processing facility (ideally seafood, but not a requisite)
Good oral and written communication skills (in English)
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
General knowledge of Microsoft office
Weekend and overtime work as needed
Education and Experience:
Associates Degree or comparable industry experience – Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science - Preferred
