POSITION SUMMARY: Coordinates the clinical education of staff nurses including, orientation and continuing education programs related to the service specialty. Participants in quality improvement activities in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objective as well as health system initiatives.
AGE SPECIFIC CARE: Provides age and culturally appropriate assessment/screening, interpretation of clinical and laboratory data and develops and implements age appropriate interventions and plans of care including education within the parameters of his/her responsibilities and licensure.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
(Effective 10/1/10) Masters Degree from an accredited School of Nursing Program required or must be pursuing and obtained within 12 months of hire. At least three years clinical experience in assigned specialty area.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Illinois.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required. Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal with all levels within the organization and community under varied conditions. Demonstrated teaching and leadership skills. Strong analytical, verbal and written communication, organizational and critical decision-making skills required.
