Mount Mansfield Union High School (MMUHS) is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to serve as the Activities Director (AD) for our high school. The Activities Director will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing a wide range of extracurricular activities and events aimed at enhancing the overall high school experience for students. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for fostering student engagement and personal development.
As a member of the MMUHS Leadership Team, the AD will assist in providing optimum educational opportunities for each student, and to facilitate administrative matters relating to faculty and staff. The AD Activities Director will provide supervision and evaluation of all activities staff to include sports, theater, and clubs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the school Leadership Team to assess, research, and develop initiatives aligned with the school's vision, mission, proficiencies, and strategic plans.
- Work with the Leadership Team to cultivate a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters positive social interactions, self-esteem, and personal wellness among students, faculty, and staff.
- Extracurricular Program Leadership:
- Provide leadership and guidance for all extracurricular activities and programs, ensuring they align with the school's goals and values.
- Act as the school's ambassador for athletics, representing Mt. Mansfield with other schools, leagues, and the Vermont Principals' Association (VPA).
- Athletics Coordination:
- Schedule games, practices, and facilities for athletic teams, coordinating with coaches, referees, and other stakeholders.
- Assign officials, scoreboard operators, and announcers for athletic events, and oversee athletic volunteers.
- Serve as an on-campus Administrator during home games, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Communicate updates and information to parents, teams, coaches, referees, and other relevant parties.
- Manage and oversee Mt. Mansfield's Athletics social media presence, keeping stakeholders informed and engaged.
- Equipment and Facilities Management:
- Supervise the purchase, maintenance, and inventory of equipment for extracurricular activities, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate with the Director of Facilities to address maintenance needs for facilities used by extracurricular programs.
- Compliance and Policy Adherence:
- Ensure compliance with VPA rules, regulations, and league policies regarding extracurricular activities and athletics.
- Verify student eligibility and adherence to school policies related to extracurricular participation.
- Conflict Resolution and Coordination:
- Mediate any disputes that arise between coaches, athletes, and parents, promoting positive communication and resolution.
- Coordinate with coaches on team travel arrangements and game scheduling, working with the Director of Transportation as needed.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as assigned by school administration or as necessary to support the overall mission and functioning of Mt. Mansfield High School.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, Master’s Degree preferred.
- Administrative endorsement preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Vermont high school sports regulations and rules.
- Ability to manage budgets, prioritize tasks, and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive extracurricular environment that supports student development and well-being.
