Additionally, Reliability Engineer creates risk-based failure mitigation plans. Proposes new or revised product designs, manufacturing processes and testing specifications that utilize best practices and will increase reliability. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to an engineering manager. The Reliability Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Job Responsibilities:
Attend and facilitate capability review meetings
Provide MTBUR data for aerospace parts
Serve as central focal point for reliability function
Research and write reliability portions of technical proposals
Identify reliability critical items and non-conformances
Generate reliability, maintainability, and system safety reports
Perform system safety analyses per Mil-Std-882 and SAE ARP4761
Perform maintainability analyses per Mil-Std-470
Review customer reliability, safety, and maintainability requirements
Provide RMS/C analysis
Conduct safety requirements decomposition
Create reliability block diagrams
Conduct FMEA/FMECA and FTA
Perform FHA and Weibull analysis
Calculate reliability predictions (MTBF, failure rates, MTBUR)
Develop reliability growth curve and demonstration
Conduct HALT and root cause analysis
