Reinsurance Director is responsible for the administration of reinsurance plans. Maintains plan records and ensures compliance with federal regulations. Being a Reinsurance Director communicates with customers and assists with plan design and distribution when necessary. Ensures timely accounting, reporting and auditing. Additionally, Reinsurance Director researches and analyzes reinsurance prices and specifications. Communicates with underwriting area to verify the proper reinsurance administration is put in place. Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director to lead the opening and operation of a new, nonprofit child development center. Little Hearts Child Development Center will offer a safe, inclusive environment for up to 74 children ages 0-3, with approximately 15 staff members, all trained in providing trauma-informed care. In preparation for the opening of Little Hearts, the Director will initially be responsible for overseeing the successful finish-out of our new building to create a safe and inviting learning environment for children and staff, creating systems for record-keeping, hiring and training staff, developing curriculum, and organizing and running processes for enrollment, all according to state licensing standards and best practices in early childhood education. Upon opening, the Director will assume responsibility for the day-to-day operational activities and for meeting all regulatory standards. The Director will explore the pursuit of Texas Rising Star certification and begin the process of writing grants and investigating other funding sources. The Director will establish and maintain a positive work and learning environment and develop strong relationships with all families and children.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and advise on building and grounds to meet regulations and pass inspections
- Hire, train and manage employees
- Develop and supervise the implementation of curriculum
- Establish and maintain relationships and communications with children and families served, staff, board of directors and community
- Manage budgets and resources effectively
- Ensure the center is meeting/exceeding the minimum standards for the state of Texas, including food program
- Raise funds, including but not limited to writing and securing grants for operational needs
Requirements:
· Current Director’s Certification – Licensed childcare director within the state of Texas
· At least 2 years of director experience
· Experience working in child care with infants, toddlers and preschoolers
· Knowledge of standards and best practices for licensed childcare centers
· Understanding of early childhood education principles and the ability to identify and implement developmentally appropriate activities
· Clear background check, reference check and fingerprinting
Preferred Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree
-Bilingual (Spanish, English)
-Experience in grant writing and reporting
-Experience in opening and starting a childcare center, including pursuing Texas Rising Star accreditation
-Experience providing trauma-informed care
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
