Reinsurance Director is responsible for the administration of reinsurance plans. Maintains plan records and ensures compliance with federal regulations. Being a Reinsurance Director communicates with customers and assists with plan design and distribution when necessary. Ensures timely accounting, reporting and auditing. Additionally, Reinsurance Director researches and analyzes reinsurance prices and specifications. Communicates with underwriting area to verify the proper reinsurance administration is put in place. Supports the investigation of proposed reinsurance opportunities, rate comparisons, and profitability analysis. May have responsibility for reinsurance customer service. Has attained industry designations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Reinsurance Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Reinsurance Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Position Responsibilities

    • Month-End Financial Oversight: Lead the timely and accurate completion of month-end financial reporting, providing essential insights to guide strategic decision-making.
    • Cost Reporting Expertise: Dive into cost reports to identify opportunities for optimization, maximize reimbursements, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Year-End Audit Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact for year-end audits, collaborating seamlessly with auditors to ensure smooth processes and adherence to GAAP principles.
    • Internal Control Management: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets, minimize risks, and uphold financial integrity.
    • Budget Planning: Take the lead in developing and managing budgets, working closely with department heads to align financial goals with organizational objectives.
    • Federal Reporting Compliance: Stay up-to-date with federal reporting requirements, ensuring accurate and timely submissions to regulatory agencies.
    • Supply Chain Oversight: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the supply chain function, optimizing inventory management, procurement processes, and vendor relationships to drive cost savings and operational efficiency.
    • Leadership: Oversee Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Supply Chain Functions: Provide leadership and direction to these key areas, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in support of organizational goals.
    • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of curiosity, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the Finance Team. 

     

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's degree preferred
    • CPA certification preferred

    Experience

    • 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare finance
    • Strong understanding of healthcare finance principles, regulations, and reimbursement methodologies
    • Experience with financial software systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
