Additionally, Reimbursement Specialist - Healthcare may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Typically requires Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from AAPC or AHIMA. The Reimbursement Specialist - Healthcare gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Position Summary:
    The primary duty of the Clinical Quality Specialist is the performance of work related to the management and general business operations of the Company, including in the functional areas of quality control, safety and health, as well as legal and regulatory compliance, particularly with respect to the care of patients and clinical services provided to patients in the Communities. In addition, the Clinical Quality Specialist exercises discretion and independent judgment – free from immediate direction or supervision – in matters of significance for the Company, including the care of patients and clinical services provided to patients in the Communities, as well as administrative authority and accountability necessary for carrying out assigned duties. This includes the ability to make independent choices, free from immediate direction or supervision.

    Education & Responsibilities:
    • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of assignment/employment.
    • Preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree from a (4) four-year college or university, four (4) to five (5) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Must have proven leadership ability with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in nursing service administration.
    • Complies with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including but not limited to those within the Compliance Process, Code of Conduct and HIPAA.
    • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served
    • Implements policies, practices, and procedures for Clinical Services, including clinical systems and staffing competencies, to ensure that all applicable regulatory requirements are met.
    • Participates in State and Federal surveys and complaint investigations and is able to bind the Community in the investigation process and with respect to any remediation needed as directed by the Divisional Clinical Specialist
    • Gathers performance improvement indicators and survey data to identify trends. Assists with developing plans of corrective action with the team as necessary.
